Self Care & Massage Hacks

I can't get a massage!! What should I do!_ (1)

The ONE THING I MISS THE MOST in this whole “Stay at Home” Phase is believe it or not, my routine MASSAGES!!!!! In almost 20 yrs as a bodyworker, I have always been pretty diligent about maintaining my self care protocol. I would receive bodywork at least 1x/month and if I was going through some type of injury, or higher stress levels, maybe up to 4x/month!

Wow, I feel as if my body is missing an ESSENTIAL component to my overall wellbeing. The benefit of therapeutic touch highlights itself even more as I feel the difference in the lack thereof…

I guarantee some of my regulars out there would strongly agree.

So, you may be thinking.. I can’t come in for my massages. What should I do!!

In its place, I have to rely more on my own self maintenance to keep myself feeling tip top, high vibe, and feeling good.

Right now, with all of the increase lounging around, my number #1 go to has been taking nice hot baths with some essential oils and salts with magnesium.

Bath Essentials

For a more luxurious feeling..

I’m sure everyone is experiencing lots of low back and neck tension. I find it key to set aside 30 min or more of exercise, and/or yoga/stretching. Especially, with concentration on gentle, aligned spinal twists.

Spinal Twist

One of my favorite massage tools is the Fascia Blaster. I must tell all of my clients about this tool for at home self maintenance, it works wonders!!! I find a lot of low back pain originates from tight quads and the psoas (hip flexors). This tool to “rake out or roll out” the quadraceps, hamstrings, calves, is soooo effective!!

Check them out in the link below. You can now purchase it off my website!

I use the smaller blaster to work on my arms, especially my forearms. If you work with your hands alot, then this could be the answer to believe it or not, your neck pain, wrist issues, shoulder tension and tightness in the chest.

Massage Tools

A little more cost effective options.

A few other noteworthy must have self-maintenance tools:

These get right into those pinpoint troublesome “knots” adhesions.

And.. if you want to turn it up a notch.

The Massage Gun!

So there you have it. Some of what I think are some of the best massage tools out there for your stay at home self care protocol, or if you can’t make it in for as many massages as you would like. Umm, in my opinion..Everyday!

As I drift off and remember trading massages daily in massage school.. the good ol’ days…

Stay safe, healthy and vibrant.

All the best, Donna
